Wedding Photography Birmingham with Layla and Matt {married 10/09/11}

Wedding Photography Birmingham

I went to school with Layla many moons ago and I was absolutely delighted when she contacted us to do her wedding photography in Birmingham. We met up with Layla and Matt earlier in the year for a very glamorous engagement shoot at ‘Hotel Du Vin’ in Birmingham (check it out here http://www.capturebirmingham.co.uk/?p=2064) which went so well, It was so nice to see Layla again and meet Matt properly. Engagement photography shoots are a great way of getting to know each other and helping people feel slightly more at ease with the camera pointing at them and with your photography style.

On September 10th 2011 we arrived at Matt’s house to begin the wedding photography. It was a sunny morning and I was so pleased that they decided to have some photo’s of the groom, best man and ushers (and mum and dad of the groom) getting ready too. These pictures are just as special and important as the Bridal preparations and I think it adds a really nice dimension to the day and the finished albums.
We got some great shots of the boys beautifying themselves (I think there was more hair products here than I’ve ever seen in a bride’s house!)

Then we continued on our way to the Brides mum and dad’s, where Layla and her bridesmaids were getting ready. As soon as we arrived we got to work on the wedding photography, Layla and her mum Julie had very helpfully hung all the bridesmaids dresses in the conservatory, ready for us. It was such a perfect place to get those all important pictures of the dresses but there was one missing…the brides dress! Julie came down clutching one of the most elegant dresses I’ve ever seen. It was a Jenny Packham dress (class!)  and it was just so beautiful. And if that wasn’t good enough, she only had a gorgeous pair of Jimmy Choo shoes!  I got a bit girly and squealy for a few seconds, but I had to compose myself and be professional! We got some gorgeous establishing shots.
The sun shone, the birds sang and the whole day was perfect.
The reception was held at The Woodlands in Barnt Green in an Iranian themed marquee in the picturesque grounds of the main house.
The whole day was as perfect as it gets, with great family and friends who all enjoyed the day as much as the bride and groom did! Congratulations Layla and Matt, thank you for letting us be part of your magical day!

Wedding Photography for Emma and Darren! 3/9/11

Wedding Photography!

We were promoting our wedding photography when we first met Emma and Darren at a wedding fayre we exhibited at last year at The Lord Hill in Shrewsbury. Angela knew Emma previously as she taught Emma to drive (her other identity is as a driving instructor!)
We arranged our engagement photography shoot with them, which we did at Lake Vyrnwy (see http://www.capturebirmingham.co.uk/?p=2269) and then it was just a short countdown to their big day, the 3rd of September 2011!

On the Saturday morning of their wedding we arrived at Emma’s mom’s house. Everyone was so calm! I know I probably say this a lot but it always surprises me how calm the bride’s are! Emma’s hair was done and she was in the process of doing her make-up. We just went about our business straight away. Emma said she chose us because she liked our candid style, so was happy to try and ignore us (as much as possible) so we could just get natural shots.

Luckily Emma’s mom’s house had a fantastic garden, it was bijoux and full of Flora and fauna. It worked perfectly as a backdrop for our portraits so we made as much use of it as possible!
Emma’s dress was from Hayley J Bespoke Bridal wear and it was gorgeous. Hayley J also made the Bridesmaids dresses.

Emma and Darren got married at Leaton Church in Shropshire. It is a lovely Victorian church, very picturesque surrounded by fields. Although the weather report warned of showers, it stayed dry all day! (we have been so lucky with the weather for all of our weddings! I’m starting to think we are lucky charms ; ))

After the ceremony we did all our photo’s at the church, as it was such a beautiful backdrop. Our photo roll call included a picture of the new Mr and Mrs Groom with a few of the cows in the next field, of course!

Then we attended the reception back at the Lord Hill in Shrewsbury and got our last few shots of the beautiful room and amazing cake (yes that is a mini Icing Emma falling off the cake in a drunken stooper!)
Another very successful wedding day, completed without incident!
